Can someone summarise that Youtube video for me?
Everything is a big conspiracy, and it's all going to end in tears !!!'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0

70 minutes, all money is debt, Fractional reserve banking and Ponzi scheme, they are on a roll now That guys voice is so annoying. Can someone summarise that Youtube video for me? I think they get millions of hits for cats doing slightly adorable things so I try not to spend too long on it.
I feel that watching it was time well spent.
It's talking about how we are using up the finite resources of the earth, and suggests how we could change this. How our economy is the cause of many of the world's problems, and benefits from illness, crime, war, etc.. It proposes a 'resource-based economy', where goods would be made to last, and people would share resources. There would be no money in this new world.
Great video. Had me welling up in the last 10 minutes. Thanks for posting it.0

When those who have never delved deep into the financial and world system we now live in or have never been faced with uncomfortable and unfortunate truths are finally presented with the facts the affects can be profound and disturbing. Ignorance is bliss as they say, and with much knowledge comes much sorrow. Videos like these will scare the life out of many and it takes a good while to come to terms with these things. Videos like this one can shatter your whole world view. but thats a good thing. those with open/logical minds will recognise the truth and start preparing accordingly them that don't will live a happy ignorant life a little longer untill its too late. Millions and millions of people are now waking up to the realities of whats really going on and are making plans accordinglyHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I'm sure you're right, but the ideas the video is challenging (judging by the comments, haven't watched it) are so facile that's incredible that anyone believes in them, let alone most individuals/institutions.
What's could be more ridiculous than an economic/social/population/financial system that is based on never-ending growth, considering we live on a planet that is a sphere, and therefore finite.0

very true, but unending growth has already hit the brickwall of finite resources. the debt sytem we live under requires unending growth and credit creation to just survive. That brick wall has been hit. all downhill from here.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Its ridiculous in practise though. If I want to go and get a loaf of bread I have to carry a big sack or hay or something to trade.
Then someone comes along and says "wait a minute!" Ill give you this gold coin for your hay, and then you can use that gold coin to buy other things.
Great thinks the first man, thats far more efficient, so he sells all his hay and buys bread with one of the coins. But now he has lots of gold to store which is easy to steal, so he pays someone to store it in a vault and gets a receipt.
He wants to buy some more bread but cant be bothered to walk to the gold vault, so he says to the breadman, ill give you my receipt for gold. Breadman agrees and everyone thinks, wow this is even more convenient using paper!
The goldbank sees everyone doing this, and thinks, hang on a sec, Ive got loads of gold here, and noone ever withdraws it all at the same time. So he starts printing more receipts and promising gold he doesn't have, but its fine because unless EVERYONE cashs in their gold it works. Presto, fractional reserve banking is born.
Then someone says, hang on a minute? Why do we even need this gold sitting in vaults, when everyone is just using the paper. Gold was only meant to be used as a store of wealth to ease trading, but everyones using paper now, theres no need for gold.
Voila, here we are todayFaith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.0

Resources are not finite, in fact in terms of human consumption they are for all intent and purposes infinite in the universe.
All that limits us is our ability to harness resources. All matter in the universe is just a store of energy, HUGE amounts of energy are contained in just tiny amounts of matter. Scientists are researching how to harness this all the time, our current methods are so primitive, even in nuclear energy. The true power of unstable elements can be seen in atomic bombs, but we can't harness this energy. The sun is an enormous ball releasing phenominal amounts of energy, but we can't harness it at the moment except through primitive solar cells.
Our society may be overly reliant on a lot of things now, but at any point in history you could go back and see they were using materials that we don't even bother with today, we have new, better materials to use and theres no reason to think that our future wont be the same.Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.0

I read recently (can't remember where) that man uses about 1% of the energy from sunlight that falls on the earth's surface (including yesterday's sunlight being consumed in the form of oil, gas and coal). That gives, potentially at least, a good deal more energy left that can be used.0
