Makes for interesting viewing that's for sure. But what is the world to do. I feel that we have all left it a little too late.

The money system WILL colapse, then there will be massive civial unrest. No food, no water, little hope.

Thousands of civialains we be killed in the years following.

Geeee wish we lived back in cave man days.

well, tis good that some will face the future, look it in the eye and walk away stronger and begin to prepare, that takes character, too many here are on the run, in denial; living in a dream world. sheep ripe for slaughter. So it is. Those that are awake can do their best to wake those still asleep. if they won't wake up, don't worry let them perish, you have done your best.

It's all become clearer now smeagold. Your posts today have been very revealing and explain your obsession with gold and silver . . at heart you're a back-to-the-lander, grow your own vegetables, home-schooling fundamentalist. That makes sense, given the metals fixation.

Of course, it would be churlish to suggest it's easy to be a bit nuts like that when you have a wife supporting the family, but I won't mention that . . .

What do you replace the current innately inefficient and anti-economic system with?

We need a Global Resource Management System. I've been saying it for ages. Does anyone listen?

It's like the discipline of accounting, whereby we have the strict measures (well, they can be fraudulent, but let's ignore that) to account for monies in and of companies.

But instead of worrying JUST about the money, which is obviously a daft zero-sum game that disregards people and society, and furthermore REQUIRES inequality to make it work, we account for the GLOBAL RESOURCES.

That's what I've learned from watching the first 1hr and 36 minutes of this! :D

EDIT: Oh, we need a GLOBAL PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM too.

  • It's good to see this discussion on here :) My twopenneth...

Our money system encourages anti social behaviour and a loss of morals. It's weird but the most upstanding middle class folk are every day turning a blind eye to shocking atrocities being carried out in order to keep the supermarkets stacked and the banks coffers full. People have to compartmentalise and not think about it too much and for a while it seems to work, but then you look at the amount of crazy kids and depressed or violent people about and you have to ask what is the real price of the material trappings.

I mean seriously a couple of average men could build or house in a year or so, so what's all this being indebted to the bank for your whole working life.... and that's if you're lucky enough to live in the 'developed' world. But we're encouraged to think ourselves lucky because we could be tinning tuna in the Philippines. What an !!!! about face way of running of world, obsessed with the abstract material value above the real human experience.

Can someone summarise that Youtube video for me? I think they get millions of hits for cats doing slightly adorable things so I try not to spend too long on it.

First 40 minutes are excellent, I feel I am going to regret watching the rest.
