it's rare it's a driver issue imo, worth trying it on white paper, just in case
other than that, might be the port on your pc, can you try it on another?0 -
I'll give it a try with paper now. I've tried it on different ports too.
Computers are strange things lol.Sigless0 -
Okay, paper was a bust. Started jumping again after a few minutesSigless0

Oh no! wish I hadnt seen that space age mousemat, I want one now if only to make my teenage gamer son jealous.
Just a thought. During a windows XP reinstall I changed to a logitech keyboard at the same time. When I installed the MS Intellipoint software for my MS optical mouse, the logitech settings software (set point) was not at all happy and had to be uninstalled/re-installed.
Did you install the logitech settings software too?
If its still on perhaps try uninstalling it, restart, Connect a bog standard ps2 mouse - let xp find it etc.
If it still jumps, and sorry to be a nag on the settings aspect but I would be sorely tempted to go to "pointer options" and then try checking and unchecking "snap to" box
Graphics card wouldnt have been my first thought as one would expect a dodgy card to show other signs as well, but certainly wouldnt discount it. Did you encounter any issues with the drivers for that or the motherboard for that matter, when you reformatted?dont confuse me with facts I need to think here!!!!0 -
I completely uninstalled the mouse yesterday (it's a bluetooth mouse so I uninstalled the bluetooth software too, figured I'd start from scratch), used a normal PS2 mouse for a while and that jumpded too (worse than the logitech one actually). Reistalled and its still happening.
Had no issues whatsoever when I reformatted.
I'll try the 'snap too' option now.
Thanks to everyone for the replies.Sigless0 -
the snap to seems to have done the trick (fingers crossed). Thank you.Sigless0
