Yes, to avoid falling foul of the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999. In my opinion it would be unfair for an airline to ask a customer for more money after a contract for the flight had been agreed, only because the airline had failed to manage its supplies properly. However this has not been tested in a court of law, so my viewpoint may not be representative of the legal stance.

I have edited your post for you! ;)

If you're an American card holder, you can beat this and grab £35 off £200+ flights at Opodo. Just enter the code AMEXFLY in the promo code box before 31 March.

Correction: You have to hold an American Express card, not be an American citizen.

How can a business class seat need more fuel than an economy class seat?

Because it takes up more space. Seat count in business could be 48, whereas in the same physical space in economy you'd find 96 seats.

  • Just spoke to our travel agent who checked the instructions they have had from BA. The booking must be ticketed before close of business today to avoid the surcharge. So, if only a deposit has been paid and the balance wasn't cleared by today, the surcharge would apply.
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!

The only flying I've done since last year is on 'Come Fly with me'.

It might be easier to get a train to Paris and fly from there.

Why would that be easier? It might save a couple of pounds (highly doubt it though) but surely it would add more hassle?

The savings from flying from another EU airport can be considerable, especially if flying in a premium cabin.
