I think that Orijen is a better food than Applaws, it is more expensive. I have also found it hard to order too. I have fed mine the Applaws but I now feed James Wellbeloved which I think is good too.

I also feed the Applaws pouches of chicken with wild rice etc, he loves them so much! They are complimentary though. I free feed mine with the dry.

My boy would only eat Applaws near the end of his life, when he had CRF. It seems very palatable (the chicken one). But from what I've read on kitty forums, Orijen is a more complete food. You could give Encore/Applaws as treats?
you are so lucky that they eat everything! I used to buy a big bag of their "favourite" only to find that they'd gone off it as soon as the bag came in the door.....

What is the meat content of the 'encore' food from Sainsburys, or the one from Asda?

Okay, I've just had a look on the Sainsburys website and it does look exactly the same - with a couple of extra flavours too. But it's worth noting that the Encore multipacks are 8 tins, and Applaws multipacks are 12 tins. So although it IS cheaper, it's not almost half the price like it seems - about 2p per tin cheaper if you're buying Applaws in 24 cans from Zooplus. I'm visiting family who have a Sainsburys near them, so will be stocking up on some Encore to test out :)

Orijen is fantastic - my two cats are absolutely thriving on it. It is expensive and never comes on offer but it's well worth it for healthy moggies!
