Gumtree/Ukash Scam or not?
Comments

Big part of goods on Gumree are ukash scams. I have already started playing with them by giving wrong numbers etc.
Best advice would be not to use ukash! Simple as that!0 -
:rotfl::rotfl:Time for some fun.
I had this so I sent him a fake Ukash voucher number, off he walks for half a day to the post office in Nigeria or wherever, comes back in the afternoon, the number is wrong ?
OOOO sorry yes given you a wrong digit its is 0 not o
off he goes again, 6 pm, err that one is wrong
Next day, said ill send a fresh one, gives him another false number, off he trundels, comes back again, that is wrong as well, are you trying to trick me he asks ... ERR Yes, But you stated it:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Hi
That same person has a Canon lens for sale at a real knock down price. I made contact with them and it's a Margie Sullivan. I found this thread as I checked "her" name out on Google as it's just got scam written all over it. I'll no doubt get some request asking me to send cash.
At least it prompted me to finally join the forum as I'm a long time lurker:rotfl:
Cheers

Just found this one myself on the Nikon D7000 +10lens kit advert for £500!
Was almost convinced, but wouldn't answer any of my questions about why it was so cheap, or do you have Paypal.
It was as if the answers were automated!
I even got a Ukash invoice which I refused to open. i replied saying I had NOT agreed that I wanted the camera and wanted more info on it. (Meanwhile I found this thread and registered)
I got another email back saying it was a reasonable price and "she" had did a search on Gumtree and found similar ads like "hers".
So I emailed back saying I did a little search myself.
Linked this thread in the email and asked. What you think?0 -
I just had my hopes raised at the thought of buying a dawes ultra galaxy touring bike only for it to turn out to be this person. As soon as i saw UKASH i knew the offer really was too good to be true. Going by the name of Anne. Told gumtree but the ad is still there...0

Similar story here. Advert for a Canon EOS 5D Mark II at an UNBELIEVABLE price. Almost third less than most genuine sellers. Latest email from this scammer:
Hi, sry for the late reply but I was tied up with work outside of town. Would u agree with delivery ? because as I've mentioned I'm caught out of town with work commitments and I had left the camera to a local courier this morning at my expense incl the shipping costs. I have it in mint condition and I'm the first owner. The ad number on gumtree is 91312867. If u agree with delivery I'll wait ur shipping address, delivery date preference & phone number as the agent will ring you with few minutes before delivering.
The camera will get to u in approx 24 hours. You'll have to inspect and void the shipment if something's wrong and the courier will take it back if you don't sign for it, but everything is like I described so there shouldn't be any problems. For payment you'll need cash in hand. Thx, Samantha
Felt inspired after reading some of the pranks on here. Have replied to the scammer with this:
Ok no problem. Send to this address and I'll pay on arival.
