Freeview TV, no remote

You could try borrowing your son's indoor aerial, point it in the same direction your son has it pointing, connect it up to the TV and re-tune via the menu button on the TV. That may tune in the freeview channels but you may not be able to change the freeview channel with you current remote...0

There may be a special sky (free to view?) card you can get that would get ch5 and other sky channels back.
You would need to talk to sky about that. There may be a small one-off charge.
Edit: It's a freesat from sky card. Since you already have the dish and reciever you only need the card (cost £25) and you won't need a new aerial or new remote. That's a one-off charge not a monthly or yearly charge. This is probably the easiest way to get those channels back.0 -
You won't get any freeview channels without an aeriel, get a lend of your sons indoor aerial, plug it into your tv then try scanning for channels using the menu button on the tv, it should then find them, this should give you an idea if it's worth getting an aerial fot the extra channels you'll get.0
