Has anyone ever had any problems receiving replies from FOS? I've wrote to them and emailed but never had any response apart from a automated reply?

Just updating on this one, have heard back from FOS now, they sent a letter a first saying they had received my complaint etc and would be in touch in 4 weeks but if not to contact them again.

I have received a letter form them today saying it is being processed and they have written to Santander now for their side of the story so have roughly 8 weeks to wait now to hear back.

    Fingers crossed people :)

Contacted FOS today on this one just for an update and they've said they are so busy it hasn't even been allocated to anyone yet :(

Never mind, will ask for an update again in another few weeks and keep my fingers crossed.

The time this is taking does not install much confidence. Im about to write my letter of complaint to the same company (different matter though) and know deep down that it will have to be refered to the FOS.

I'm sorry to say this but you most likely will. Santander are awful at replying, I'm shocked they have any customers as I've had nothing but problems with them and I'm not even with them out of choice. Wish I could get a small windfall and pay the thing off to get away from them.
    Good luck though :)

Hang on in there; the more difficult Santander has been, the more your compensation is likely to be when it's finally dealt with.

I know I am maybe being impatient (just excited to see the reply that's all) but contacted FOS again just to see if there was an update and I now can't get a reply from them. Have emailed the contact I was given and the standard email address over the past few weeks and no getting anything.

Presume they are busy though as they will be dealing with all kinds at the moment but how long should I wait before maybe sending a letter to chase it or anything? :)

I seem to remember seeing a report of FOS taking more than a year in some cases. Unfortunately, you just need to be patient.

The thought of 8% pa interest on your compensation up till the date of payment should help to keep you warm over the winter.
