Fixed APR has been changed???

I must admit that I am a little puzzled by the fact that the interest rate has apparently changed but the repayments have not.
If you have statemets from previous years, you should be able to see whether the outstanding balance is continuing to reduce by more and more in each successive year. If the balance is reducung as above then it is probable that the interest rate has not actually changed but those clowns at Santander just don't really know what they are talking about.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

Well thats my reply sent back to them with evidence of my original loan agreement and terms which I have read and read again to double check and there is nothing in there to state they can change it from being fixed
Looking forward to see what reply they come up with now to try and wriggle out of admitting they are in the wrong!0 -
I too had reason to complain to Cahoot sometime ago and received the same dismissive reply from them.
I appealed,at that time to Abbey, and received a very nice wad of compensation, so it's definately worth pursuing, because as you know Cahoot can and do c!!k up.
PS
since moved to Smile.

Fingers crossed, just glad I noticed when I did! If I get fobbed off again am definitely going to send it to the FOS to investigate as I have all the original paperwork so can't see how they can even try and argue against that but you know what they are like - once sorted I might just consider moving0 -
Hi,
Just wondered after sending my reply back, how long should I give them to reply to me before sending it onto the FOS?
Thanks0 -
If they don't respond within say a couple of weeks, then maybe send a nag letter? What date did you tell them you wanted resolution by in the letter you sent?0

AFAIK they're allowed 8 weeks0

Assuming that was early February I would give them 2 weeks to reply to your latest letter and follow it up with a subtle reminder asking them to provide you with details around how to escalate your complaint to the FOS.
While you may be quite capable of googling the "how to refer to FOS" putting it in writing that way may focus their minds that you're not going to go away.
(If they fail to tell you how to refer to the FOS within reasonable time this will irritate the FOS when they come to deal with your complaint. While it shouldn't sway the outcome, I know I would be less likely to favour the party who has failed to play by the rules up to that point).

Hi,
After sending in an official complaint to Santander about the above, I finally got a letter back from them saying they had received it and were investigating and would get back to me within 2 weeks.
I thought this was great as they had actually replied.
Now after 3 letters exactly the same which they keep sending out every 2 weeks I have still had no actual response from them.
As happy as I am that they are keeping me informed, how many of these letters do I put up with and what can I do next to push them along?
Thanks0
