I have just used them this week and they were brilliant.I had a good chat with the manager who explained there set up and how they work and how they got started. As they don't do any repairs they are unbiased and my 13 year old £500 Astra failed on one ball joint which cost me £40, I was over the moon and called him back that afternoon after I had replaced it and booked it straight in for the retest. Will definitely recommend and use again. 100% excellent service.
  • MOT Stations alone are not feasible due to the level of equipment required and the cost limit on MOT's. Therefore ask yourself how they manage this when no-one else can? If it was cheap do you not think every MOT tester would go out and do this independently?

I'd guess they either make their money by referrals to garages or never having space within 10 days to take cars back in thus getting retest fees each time. I'm also intrigued at why they would be recruiting unqualified assistants when they do nothing apart from the MOT's?

My guess is they do minor stuff like bulbs, wipers etc and fail a lot of cars on these....

Driving the car's in and out, turning the steering wheel on the ramps, standing at the back checking the lights, sweeping away the big lumps of rust that fall off, answering the phone, must be a thousand jobs you wouldn't need to pay a qualified inspector for.

When I chatted with the manager he said they do it on volume and contracts, one of his franchises mot's for a MB dealership and they send him 20 cars a week but he needs to do about 16 cars a day to break even.
When I called to book a retest it was no problem and I could pick a day to bring it back.
