Hi,
Just looking for some advice please. I have recieved a letter today from Jobcentre Plus. Just wondering if anyone else had got something similar.
It says;
Dear xxxxx
We are updating your details and need to see you to review the information we currently hold on your claim. There may have been changes you have not yet told us about. It is essential that you attend an interview with us so we can discuss this matter further.
You should note that where there is doubt about whether the conditions for entitlement are met, we can suspend payment of your benefit.
It then just gives the address, date and time of interview.
Im not worried about this as I have always been straight with them about my situation. I saw them for a work focused interview in November and they updated loads of info about me then.
So is this just a general letter that they send out sporadically to keep up to date with everyone?
Any advice will be much appreciated

The DWP do random checks on claimants so it's likely that your claim was randomly picked for checks.0

I had one of these sent out to me saying there was a query on my claim.
Went along and the lady said it was just a normal check as mine was a new claim (from September).
Had to show some ID and bank statements and that was it.

sounds like a generic letter, think that if there is a query on anything it is to let you know that payments can be stopped until the issue is resolved0

As has been said already, the DWP are known to do random spot checks on claimants.
I wouldn't worry too much, just give them what they ask for and hopefully everything will be fine.
Oh, and I know they do sound a little heavy handy as I've had one myself

I am appointee and got one for my daughter who is autistic. To be honest it scared the s*** out of me, so I phoned them! A woman checked and said it was a standard review. I hope that's true. Maybe they are using left over stationery to save money, but I think the letter is VERY heavy handed. It's bad enough dealing with a disability without being made to feel that you have somehow committed fraud!!!

I agree it is written in a rather agressive manner. My little boy is on dla and it worried me. I have nothing to hide but all the same its unnerving by the way it is written. Thanks for your help.0 -
The powers that be in the various governement departments create generic letters which staff are required to issue.
Usually all they do is access the specific letter and enter the persons details and there is no facility to edit anything other than those few details.
The powers that be don't have to deal directly with the general public so they don't care if anyone finds them heavy handed.:mad:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: You think that is heavy handed? You should see some of the letters I send out. I don't consider it heavy handed all - factual and cold, but what do you all expect? Hugs and kisses??
OP, if you have been straight with them then you have nothing to worry about. I think the letter is phrased thus to ensure that claimants do attend as I am sure many try to wriggle out of such an interview0
