Apologies mateIf Adam and Eve were created first

Put some oil in it.i drive a 02 1.6 petrol picasso last night i went round a bend a bit fast and the display flashed low oil pressure.after this took a few more corners a bit fast but no warning light flashed anyone got any ideas what this is.
hyltonladThe greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
you could have popped the bonnet, drawn out the oil level dipstick and seen the level quicker than it took to write your post.
Don't people ever check their oil/water levels anymore? Or does the average person now think a car is a "just add fuel" commodity
Rossy, good to see you back, but take care. The peeps that sometimes post on here are just those that think the manual is for others.
They do think that petrol or even diesel is all a car needs. They are programmed to expect their car to tell them what it needs,
Don't go getting into trouble again chap;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
where did you get that from?
What good is a low oil level indication light if the damage has already been done
sorry but that's just pure nonsense
Its not a low oil level indication light, its a low oil pressure light. If there's insufficient pressure, you end up with metal on metal as the oil isn't able to keep the crankshaft separate from the mains and big end bearings.0 -

Hammy i'm fully aware mate
I misread Lum's post and thought he was refering to low oil
Trying to multitask

By the time the oil pressure light comes on, oil level will probably be 1 litre or more off the bottom of the dipstick. The low mark on the dip stick is there for a reason. The oil pick up is usually quite low and the oil pressure warning light comes on once it stops being able to suck oil up.0

The saviour in all this is that a normal engine will "probably" run for 30 secs with zilch op. That ain't gonna happen on the race track but on the road:eek:, too fine a line.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

This was always an issue with previous car, a 2.0 Pug 306.... Decided to service it myself and found the spark plugs were minimum 5 years old and the batch date on the air filter showed to be 3 years old, all despite having a full dealership service history.
just because a batch date on filter is 3 years old does not mean it has not been changed, they dont make filters to order when your car is in for service you know, they are made in huge numbers and can be in the warehouse for ages before being sent to a dealer as part of stock order.
also how do you know plugs are a minimum 5 years old?? plugs 6 months old look old when they have been in the tube working hard at high temps.
i have worked in pug and vaux dealers in the past and i can assure you no matter how awkward a design the items that needed changing got changed, dont tar dealerships with the likes of !!!!!! fit.0 -

Where's the date code on oil filters, I have a couple I want to check, and can't find anything?0
