    Hi all,

Congratulations on the new arrivals and thanks for the pics :) Both babies are gorgeous !!!!!!!!

I hope that everyone suffering with SPD is having a good day and that all the bumps are behaving.

I am pleased and p!££ed off at the same time, pleased I made it to 22 + 5 without my re-occuring back problem causing any problems, and annoyed that at 22+6 its back with a vengence.

I have two corroded disks at the base of my spine (which is slightly misaligned becuase of my hips/knees) and as well as getting rubbing/grating etc i also get re-occuring sciatica becuase everything is a bit jiggered in there, so today we have general constant ache, screeching with pain when i stand/sit/bend/lean/sneeze/cough or do anything in general and i dont really know what to do with myself.

I had started weaning myself off the knock out drugs and things that i was on when first diagnosed and have managed to maintatin almost 10 months of no pain but i think the extra stone im carrying and the change in my shape have come to get me.

Looks like im gonna have to ask for physio referral and im going to see how i go this weekend but might have to ring midwife on monday to see what drugs i can take :( Feel a bit like a failure, have managed so well for so long :(

Im hoping this is a short episode, from history im looking at anything from 2 weeks to 4 months of pain :(

Sorry for moaning, will go bug OH who is being amazing but feeling very useless bless him

Puzzled don't be daft we are all happy to listen and sympathize as much as we can. :o. You will most probably be given codeine based pain relief as it is approved during pregnancy but get yourself to out of hours if you can at all as they will help. I have recurring sciatica too but can only take small amounts of cocodamol as I have huge tolerance issues with opiates. :(.

Thanks Koala, i know its daft but i was really hoping the hard work we had put in before hand would keep it at bay til much later on :(

Thanks for confirming that there are some things that i can take other than paracetamol which doesnt work for me, too many years of pain killers have made me less responsive to anything that doesnt make me drowsy lol

OH and i are having a night in with Eurovision so he can look after me a little, hope you meal goes well this evening :)

You will definitely be given something better than paracetamol.....I was offered dihydrocodeine last week despite it being in my notes that opiates cause me to have terrifying hallucinations.....which really are worse than the pain! :o

Hope you enjoy Eurovision tonight but don't forget to go to out of hours if the pain gets unbearable as they will be happy to help. :)

Puzzled - Sorry to hear that you are in pain with your back :( cant even begin to imagine how horrible it must be.

I think I must be the only person who doesnt like Eurovision!! So I'm going for a nice long soak in the bath with some magazines and a face mask :D
