Im sure Ill change my mind once the sleepless nights and poopslosions I've heard so much about begin!:p

It's funny though, I've always wanted a baby girl and that is (supposedly) what we're having - but I want a boy now too - methinks Im just greedy!:rotfl:

I think it's normal to want what you haven't got

I'm having another girl too :D OH wanted a little girl (it's all boys in his family you see - nobody's had any girlies)

When I had DS and found out I was expecting (unexpectedly) I immediately wanted another boy so felt a bit weird when I found out DD was a girl.
However one of each sounded good.

When she was born I found it much harder -think personality wise DS is like eeorye (spelling!) and DD like Tigger :rotfl:

I am really hoping this little girl is not similar babywise to DD - feel awful for saying that :o - but if she is I'm in for a rough ride during her early years!

My mum says that it's not possible to have 2 DD's the same (I am one of 3 girls) but this one feels pretty feisty to me :rotfl:

    Afternoon!

Goodness lots of hormonal ladies about today :p;) I will refrain from joining in (even though I totally agree between that and the housing situation....!!) as my BP has been behaving itself lately and if I start ranting I probably will never stop LOL!!

Anyhoo have a nice last Alamaya I'm on count down too, after today only 2 more working days :j.

Hopefully things are happening now for grateful not like her to be offline for this long!

Vroom fingers crossed for you that bubs has engaged....if he hasn't I ain't sticking around for wrath of an already peed of pregnant lady :D

Anyone taking the RLT or tablets....do you feel really uncomfortable afternwards? I can feel things totally tightening after I have a cup, obvioulsly it's doing it's job but it is so flipping uncomfortable! A couple of times I've nearly sworn.....very loudly in the office (which isn't that unusual to be honest :o) but don't really want to draw attention to the reason why, everyone would start flapping LOL!!

DH phoned me at lunch time, he said "I have something to tell you!" uh oh I thought but all it was was to say that he's now not sure of the boys name we have picked!! LOL the thing is I have been thinking the same so back to the drawing board. We have a definate girls name and that wont change but a boys name is just so tricky!

Labour vibes to all the boldies :D

I totally agree with this, so hard choosing a boy's name. Have known so many little sh%ts over the years that find it impossible to disassociate the name from them! Am not keen on 'popular' names either.
A girl's name would be a lot easier... Ho hum :D

Labour/eviction vibes to all who need them, should be a few ladies popping soon

Feel free to find me a girls name! :D We are the opposite - can think of a few very strong contenders for boys names but are pickled for girls!

  • I'm with all of you who are annoyed that there are some people out there not prepared to help themselves-it is one of my biggest bug bears!!! Someone I work with, him and his girlfriend are expecting a baby a couple of weeks before me-she quit her job ages ago, quite happy to have him go out to work and struggle to provide for the both of them (he only earns minimum wage) but now they're having a baby, they;ve moved into a nice house, in a nice area as housing benefit will pay for it!! He was telling me about how they will get this, that and the other once their baby is born, and it made me think, why do me and dh bother???
DS 1 was a suprise, but DS2 and this one were planned when we felt we were in a position to be able to afford to support them ourselves. DH worked for woolies, on a rather decent salary, when they went bust, and he was out of work for 3 months-and it was the hardest 3 months. We had to scrimp and cut right back as we didn't know how long he would be out of work for. Luckily for us, as i was working (even though only part time on minimum wage) we were still able to get tax credits and obviously the amount we got increased-we both hated having to rely on it, but felt after having always worked we deserved ton get something back, when we needed through no fault of our own.
The only downside was, that because we have a mortgage we couldn't get any help with that-had we been renting we could have got housing benefit, and with the tax credits and my wages we would have been fine.........it made it easy to see why some people don't try to help themselves! But luckily, we survived and are quite proud of ourselves, that we did manage to, and not fall in the trap of relying on benefits.
Having said all that, I do know there are people that can't help their situation and who do need the help-it's just the ones that keep popping out kids while making no attempt to work and support them themselves that make me mad!!!

    anyway, that rants over!!!

on the subject of having a boy and a girl-having 2 boys already, it reaaalllyyyy irritates me when people keep saying 'i bet you're hoping for a girl this time'......errr no, actually i don't care!! it really makes me mad-We wouldn't be having another baby if it was just because we were desperate for a girl! MIL made me cross when we said we didn't find out the sex when she said 'oh it's probably best, because you'd probably be disappointed if it's another boy' and anyway, she herself has said to me that they're hoping for a girl this time-well she will get what she's blinking well given lol
I know of someone who had 2 boys, and when she was expecting her 3rd found out it was a girl-had it been another boy they would have had an abortion:mad: :mad: I will just be grateful to have a healthy baby!!! (and not too many stitches *down there* afterwards :o :rotfl:)

Crikey-i sound like a moany old cow today :rotfl:
Sorry for the rant (s) :o xxx

Hi all and massive congrats Coops, hope you can get some stability soon and breatfeeding works out ok. I would be interested to hear any tips you lear, as I want to breastfeed too.

I'll join on on the rant re: those who don't help themselves, or rather do help themselves to government money, as a member of my family did this for a few years and to some extent still relies on tips and tricks to get his way. So annoying as OH and I saved hard for 6 years to get a deposit and cut back on everything, but this person is now buying their place from the government/council at a fraction of the cost, plus his new partner will get to enjoy it too. Harrummmpf.

Labour vibes to Alfalfa - I got the day right now! And anyone else who needs them.

I realise with some terror I have 17 more weekends of freedom! I am putting together a 'Bucket List' of sorts of things I want to achieve before then, body permitting - would anyone like to do this on here so we can support eachother?

Sorry - the stitches part made me giggle - this used to be a big fear of mine before I had DS due to a bad experience had by one of my sisters on the stitching front - however I ended up having a section so had loads of stitches - nevermind I didn't feel them until afterwards so I'm ok with that

Me too I'm a moany old moo today!
  • I had emergency c-section with ds 1 so had stitches, and with ds 2 i had forceps with an episiotomy, and had found the stitches sooo sore afterwards-and it really stung when going for a wee, and the other sort of toilet :o well, that was near on impossible :rotfl: But i'm sure when it comes to it, i wont care lol or even notice lol
