Sammy.. get the dog to the park... does he have a ball/stick he'll fetch for you? ... bending the throwing and the walk might just work...

Jojo.. congrats... :D .. that's one good sized baby there!

nic.. if baby isn't cooked nothing will shift it.. I don't believe any of it makes a difference even after due dates.

Eeeek, there are so many ladies about to drop and with things happening, I can't keep up. Good luck to all!

I'm after some advice really. What are your thoughts on antenatal classes? I think we get one NHS class and and another on breastfeeding (need to check that) but I'm wondering how many go to NCT classes. I just checked the courses near me and the price  It works out as £175 if I want to go to the evening ones. Do you think it's worth it for first time parents?

I'm doing NCT classes and we've had two sessions so far. I was a bit apprehensive but to be honest i've really enjoyed them. The class only has 6 couples and on the first session we wrote out what we wanted to learn and find out and the classes have been based on this since. We've covered things so far like how do you know when to go into hospital, the first stage of labour, what to pack in a hospital bag, massage and breathing (which wasn't as hippy as it sounds). I'm a first time mum so i've found it all really useful.

Also i don't know if it reduces the costs if you don't join the NCT and just do the classes; I think we paid more £140 ish cos we didn't join NCT too

supermaiden you can take glycerin throat pastilles from Boots. I had a really bad sore throat really early on in my pregnancy and I asked the pharmacist there and they said you can't take things like strepsils and halls soothers because of something to do with the menthol. Those glycerin ones were ok though

Wow, congrats JoJo - that is one fast update! What a gorgeous baby :)

Yes, I'm just going to stay upright and mobile as much as I can. MIL took the dog out this morning, so I will go for a walk with him later to see if that helps things along. DH has gone back to bed to catch up on the sleep we missed last night so don't want to disturb him. My most vivid memory of the small hours, was me wailing in pain and DH cuddling the dog saying "me and Teddy (the dog) are scared". Ahhh, makes me well up thinking about it!

Any news from DM11? I'm guessing if she was induced yesterday then she must be having mummy cuddles by now. Fingers crossed.

RE NCT classes - I didn't do them, only the hospital classes, but my sister did do them. She gave me all the leaflets, dvds, and handouts that they gave her - def more info than my NHS ones. Tbh, I've learnt a lot more from here and other preg books than I did learn at the hospital.

Bubs is staying put until moving day!! :rotfl:

Sammy, that must be very frustrating. I'd keep moving as much as poss and just do bits around the house. Have you got a ball you can bounce on?

I had some Boursin on crackers (had them a fair amount lately) and it's given me heartburn and a sicky feeling. Great. I was going to have some soup for lunch... Hopefully won't bring that up!

Nic - I had major sweet cravings and fruit cravings early in my pregnancy, and everyone thought it was a girl. I had such a thing for orange juice, and then fizzy strawberry laces. I now crave milkshake, though that is fading a bit, and junk food.

Oddly, I have completely gone off pickles and olives and stuff which I usually adore. Weird huh!
