Ah well I haven't had a proper midwife appointment yet as my booking in appointment was at the hospital. 16 week appointment on 2nd march (when I will be 19 weeks:mad:!)

Apparantely baby doesn't like custard creams...only ate 3 and I feel sick as a pig now!

  • Hello all

Congrats to all new births and labour vibes for those that need them!

Hope everyone is well this morning - I had a reasonably good weekend bar the baby seems to have dropped very low and is kicking very low which is proving to be a bit painful and uncomfortable - did anybody else find this at 20 weeks? - in my previous pregnancies I don't recall getting kicked this low this early :(

Re the exemption cert - I haven't recieved one - they used to send out in the post here but haven't had anything - didn't need to prove anything at dentist as it was pretty obvious I was pregnant

RBG, when i was pregnant with Lily. Just before she was due i had a massive panic and was crying to DH about how our lives are over.
He got me to list everything we cant do when she comes and all i could think of was 'go to the cinema' :o (we dont drink so dont go out)

We hardly went to the cinema anyway and we've still done everything like before but with just a bit of preparation :)
That's probably the only thing we don't do any more really. We just get rentals instead.

  • Morning Ladies. Well I had my show this morning and been having cramps since I got up at 7am, so not sure if thats things starting for me or not. Had a really rubbish morning so far, my heating and hot water packed in last night and the house is freezing :( Landlord has been out and says that the boiler is fooked and needs a new pump and is away to try and get a new one, but cant guarantee that it will be today. If not Mr Sharkey and I will have to stay in a hotel, as it is way to cold to be here, really peeved off as he new we were having probs with the boiler and hasnt bothered his backside to do anything about it. Housing benefit are messing me around as well and have said that I am not entitled to anything as my wages are too high - my employers overpaid me last month which means this month I wont get anything but according to the council me, husband and newborn can survive on nothing at all :( apparently whenever bubs is born we will be entitlted to it, but not until then. Crazy system. lol.
Hope HM is having mummy cuddles and that everyone else is ok today.
    Sharkeybabe xx

  • Il just wait untill my 24 week appointment and tell my midwife ive lost it. Like I say im not too bothered about the dentist I can easy claim it back , I sadly dont look pregnant at all , Maybe I could let my denitist feel it kick lol. It never stops. Dont know if anyone else here has an office job but the baby hates it when I pull my chair tightly into my desk , it kicks like mad till I move back. Also when my dog cuddles into my belly and fidgets baby boots her in the head and my dog just looks up at me like" mummy why are you hurting me " lol
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!
Gorgeous baby boy born 7/7/11 :D
  • I also meant to say I got one of those grobag egg things from ebay. I dont put heating on in my bedroom much as I find it gets too hot in the night. So I have been worrying that its too cold during the day. however when I plugged it in it has a big smiley face and glows the right colour. So what Im trying to say is the right temp for a baby is much colder than you think.

I have an office job and I find my baby is pretty active probably cos I'm sitting down most of the time.

Nobody has been able to feel the kicks from the outside yet though (not even me)- I suspect that's a few weeks away for me - certainly since at the moment the baby is lying very low so most of the kicks I am feeling in a very uncomfortable place :o

I haven't had an exemption certificate - when do you normally get them?
You have to apply for it - you need to ask your MW or GP for a form and they have to certify that you are pregnant and when you are due. When I asked my GP for it last time he had to search for the forms - I think most people in my area are on free prescriptions anyway.

Thanks Susan - I will mention it to my GP next time I go.
Having said that I don't think I've ever had to show my exemption cert in a chemist following having my babies - I suspect some places are probably fussier than others
