    Barolo ain't no Chardonay!!! Usual price for Barolo is twice this price and you would be lucky to pay less than £20 in a Resteraunt with a meal. Try it at this price... maybe a perfect match fot that popular post for Free 'Warming Liquid' .... purely to get the Barolo to the perfect temperature of course... then again if there's some left....!!!

    Barolo is a very classy wine - usually seems to cost from £10 a bottle and upwards in most supermarkets/wine retailers

    Depends on the year and vineyard to some extent but £6.99 a bottle for a wine of this type is a good price, IME. :)

    Great post £6.99 for barolo is a great find.

    I like cheap wine too but not JUST any old cheap wine. I like a bit of quality too.

    I think each bottle of wine has to pay £1.99 tax to govenment so if a bottle of wine is £2.99 it has cost £1 to make if its £3.99 it has cost £2 which is double so in theory should be twice as good.

    Tesco did a chablis for £6.99 recently but it wasnt as good as other chablis.

    Perhaps we should start a wine drinkers thread?
    The best work is the cheapest as the quality remains long after the price is forgotten
