You take the bus to travel 100 yards down the road? :rotfl:

No he is using it as an example..

Say you have a 2 mile long street you live on .. Guaranteed that street would have 2 different fare bands on the bus.. I know me old dear bless her gets off a stop earlier then she should do when she pops to the shops because it saves her 50p!!

Presumeably it is the minimum fare.

Even if you got a taxi, the minimum fare usually starts at about £2.50.

First Bus Leeds, are a total rip-off in the wider picture, but on this occasion, I don't really see the problem.

Try the Isle of Wight. Minimum fare there is £2.50. Day ticket £11.

If it was just a short journey, it should have just cost £1, but I presume you must have crossed one of the green boundary or the city centre, so was issued the following:

On some shorter Hop Across Leeds journeys, it may be cheaper to buy two Short Hop tickets. In this case, your driver will automatically issue a £2 ticket.

I have to agree that buses are generally getting more expensive but so is petrol, MOT's and tax and they couldn't exactly run their business at a loss.
