Had a email from HMRC apparantly

Just checking if anyone else has this? its screams scam to me? I could be wrong

Is this legit? I dont think it is

Just got this on a email

Dear Applicant:

Under the last assessment, we investigated your payments for the last three
years and our calculations shows you made over payments of 439.43 GBP.

Due to the high volume of refunds you must complete the Tax Return Form.
Please make sure you complete the form correctly.
There are now only a few cases where HMRC still allows you to send your
tax return on paper, instead of sending it online, without getting a penalty.

Then when you click the link it takes you to here:
http://www.sage.com.my/new/RT-F53218/TaxReturn.html

When you go to the link it takes you to a supposed HMRC page where they want your Credit Card info, then when you click on contact us or help it doesnt go anywhere

As far as I know, HMRC will only ever write to you... maybe someone on here can confirm.

That is most likely, also - unless you have informed HMRC of your email address (unlikely) - how are they meant to know it? Bear in mind they don't even know where you live unless you inform them

Funnily enough, I did just get an email from HMRC! A real one, I changed my details and they emailed me to confirm. Didn't try to steal my bank details though :(
