Hi,
I have regularly been receiving calls from a number displayed as 0808 060 0702. When I answered it turns out to be Vodafone (not another company) trying to get me to take a contract with them. I said no, and told them I was registered with the TPS and to remove me from their telemarketing lists. However the calls regularly keep coming so I stopped answering them.
Then I visited the Vodafone website and used their contact form asking them to remove my details and again reiterating that I am registered with the TPS.
I got the reply below:
What else can I do? Ultimately Vodafone are outsourcing to these "service providers" so it's THEIR responsibility to stop them from contacting me.
Many thanks,
Gary

Extract from TPS website:
"I have registered with TPS and have allowed 28 days for my registration to become fully effective. Why am I still receiving unsolicited sales and marketing phone calls?
We can't promise that registration with TPS will stop all unsolicited sales and marketing calls but it will certainly reduce them. If after 28 days you are still receiving this type of call to the telephone number you have registered with TPS, you can take advantage of our free complaint handling service. Please click on the 'complaint' option on the left hand side menu for further details.
3. Why do I have to wait up to 28 days for the service to become fully effective?
It is a legal requirement for telemarketers not to call a TPS subscribed number after it has been registered for 28 days. Upon registering with the TPS you should notice a gradual reduction of unsolicited sales and marketing calls after a few days but please allow 28 days for the service to become fully effective."
If you registered your mobile number with TPS more than 28 days ago, then report the nuisance calls to TPS.
Have you googled the number?0 -
Hi Loanranger,
Thanks for the reply. And yes I'm aware of those details from the TPS website, all my phones have been registered on it for some time (and I ALWAYS make sure to tick the box on any forms saying no contact permitted! lol).
Yes I Googled the number, and it has been confirmed as Vodafone's outbound sales number.

And I sincerely hope that the poor employee on the other end of the phone presses assault charges when they contract accoustic shock because of your unreasonable and dangerous behaviour. Would you go out and punch a Ford garage mechanic because you had been bombarded with junk mail trying to sell you the latest model of car?0 -

My lord, some people just take things way too seriously and have absolutely no idea when someone is joking.Sad times.

Since yesterday they have called me 6 times.
The first time I answered, he said he was from the Vodafone win back team, wanting to know if they could do anything to win me back. I explained that my contract ended in december and to ring me back then, he said that was fine and he would.
I get another call 2 hours later, which i missed.
I get ANOTHER call 2 hours after that, which I answer, speak to the SAME bloke, who goes through the SAME stuff, at which point I say 'do you not remember talking to me earlier today? i'm happy to talk about going back to vodafone as the signal is good here, but my contract isnt up yet.'
"Oh sorry sir, im so sorry for calling you back, ill call you nearer to December"
Fast forward to this morning, another call that I miss because i'm on nights, followed by ANOTHER call when I wake up which I didn't answer. If I get one more i'm going to answer and shout at him down the phone until he gets the message.0 -
Win back team? Lol! The BEST and ONLY way for them to "win back" would be to treat their customers PROPERLY in the first place - and there ain't much chance of THAT!0

ANOTHER BLOODY PHONE CALL!
I've just been a bit short with the woman who I spoke to, she's promised to get me removed from the list.0
