VODAPHONE BLACKBERRY TORCH - help

I'm starting a new business up in the next few weeks so on 31 January 2011 I signed up for a business price package with Vodaphone. The £30 (£36 inc VAT) per month deal included a new Blackberry Torch.

Since then I've been trying to get this phone set up for emails, social networking etc. without any success except a major headache for me. I can look at websites but just get error messages when I try to set up my own accounts for email etc.

On further inspection of the phone I've found in the media section an Idlewild video dated 12 October 2010 3.35 a.m. and a video of the inside of the Vodaphone shop dated 5 December 2010 dated 1.25 pm.

So am I within my rights to demand a cancellation of this contract (I am within the 7 day cooling off period) on the grounds that this phone is not new - since it has the 2 videos on it - and up to now is not working fully with emails etc? I hate complaining and confrontations so would welcome any advice from on here so I know that I am within my customer rights before I go and tackle the salesman in the Vodaphone shop.

Thank u

If you want some diy help try the crackberry forums as they should know all about the Torch. If you're using BIS have you registered your email accounts online at the vodafone blackberry portal?

You should also be able to take it into a Vodafone shop and have someone there set it up for you. If you go at a quiet time they should be able to spend time with you talking through the features and setting it up.

Are the videos on the internal storage or the sd card? If the latter then it could just be a secondhand sd card rather than phone that you have.
  • To set up your email accounts go here, https://bis.eu.blackberry.com/html?brand=vodauk this is your Blackberry Internet Service (BIS).

Create an account then enter the email accounts you want "pushed" to your Blackberry, this is your email accounts and passwords, and then click on send service books. All the icons for your email accounts should then be on your Blackberry home screen.

    Hi Tarn-totty,

I am sorry to hear you are struggling to get it all up and running. I can see that you have already had some help from other users, thanks guys.

You are absolutely right on the point that you can return the handset within the first seven days of having it. If you feel that the handset isn't right for you then by all means you can do this.

If you go back to the store where you took out the agreement then they can arrange this for you.

    Best wishes,
