What are my rights?

I should have gone on a Nile cruise on Monday, (flying to luxor) followed by 2 weeks in Hurgada. Flights were booked through Easyjet and they have given me a voucher to the value of the flights. As stated by another post, insurance company says I am not covered as the FCO doesn't cover all travel. What happens about the money I paid for the cruise, hotel, transfers and the pre paid parking at the airport. I have booked through a travel agent who have said that they are looking into the situation, they are contacting the companies who I was using.

    Who cancelled your holiday?

  • I did, as the foreign office said only non essential travel should not go.

I think you'll find you've acted hastily in cancelling. The FCO only advises, it doesn't stop you from travelling. You might get sympathetic companies who'll do something for you but if not, you've lost out.

How was your holiday booked? was it separate elements booked through your travel agent, or was it all as 1 package.

If easyjet have cancelled the flight, then you should get a full refund on the flights, not a voucher. If however you have jumped the gun and cancelled off your own back, then things can be different!
