That's how long it can take for the DD to be set up in your linked account in order to 'pull' into your Icesave a/c; you can still use BACS to 'push' funds from your linked a/c in the meantime.

sorry for the confusion, it just worked straight away on mine. Although I did have a problem logging in when I first recieved my User ID (I got my password wrong and locked my account).

I rang them up and requested a password reset. They give you so many characters of the new password over the phone and the rest come later in an e-mail. I'd hit the weekend and so it was a few days later before I got the e-mail, so this delay probably meant the direct debit arrangement had been set up on my account before I managed to log in.

Do they send you a password or do you choose one? I filled in the forms about 3 weeks ago but have only just got round to sending off the required id. I dont seem to have made a note of any password

Yes; the BACS details are on one of the Icesave threads hereabouts.

That was my problem, I took a while to send off the ID and by the time my userID came I couldn't remember the password

The reset one they give you is a meaningless one, they give you 4 characters over the phone and the remaining characters come in the e-mail. Once you log in you have to change it.
