These companies sending out junk mail though are wasting their time, as much like with a spam email, the majority just discard it.
But, the sad fact is, companies send out thousands of flyers, and if only get a fraction of a response, then they are generating revenue and they will see it as not wasting their time.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -

And of course - there are no tales whatsoever on here about couriers doing that - or throwing packages over fences, or "losing" things. Privatisation will not change things, in fact, I personally think it will make things worse - but that is just my opinion.cheatthecheatingcheaters wrote: »Royal Mail are shoite. I was out when a Christmas package was delivered (a bunch of presents from my mum in Australia). "Parcel put in green box" was the message that came through the door. The green box is the recycling box. That day was recycling day. We never saw the package.
We have sent packages, letters, so many times that have never made it to their destination. I give up on them now. They are totally dysfunctional and a good example of how British workers are absolutely unable to perform the simplest of chores without stuffing it up.
My postie is an absolute star.
Always polite, always a cheery hello and a smile.
In the recent bad weather, through all the snow and rain, the post still came through :T“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
Oh I am not a cheerleader for privatisation. Going from the public sector to the private sector is just swapping inefficiency and complacency for greed and profiteering.0

Sorry - it did look as if I was suggesting that you had said privatise them.

It is my experience that the recipient usually refuses such items and these then go back to the Royal Mail Return Letter Centre, where, as a junk item, they are binnedNO MORE HANDWASH GLITCHES PLEASE

I don't really see the 'major issue' with junk mail! You don't have to read it, just put it in recycling and don't get stressed about it!
I do see the issue with privatising royal mail though, just now you can post a letter for about 30p ish to anywhere in the UK, after privatising any remote part of the UK could see themselves spending 1000x that to post a letter.⚠ 2014 - COUNTDOWN TO INDEPENDENCE ⚠0 -
What a spiffing idea. We should them be able to go and queue at the counter on Saturday Mornings between 8:00 and 10:30 with the otehr hordes, baffooooons, CHAVS and all to get our weekly post packet at £5 a turn. Just like it is in some other countries.glasgowdan wrote: »II say privatise the whole shebang. I don't care if it means prices will rise, I'll pay for it.
I imagine Custardy would do a roaring trade in teas.0
