I'm hoping to get my Dad to drive me in one of his Mini's, probably his cream Mini Pickup. If I am really nice to him, I might be able to pursuade him to lend my OH his Austin Healey Frog-eye Sprite, I would have loved to have gone in it but its a convertable and don't want my veil to blow away.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0

I've hired a 13 seat stretch limo. It is fairly tacky but as we have 5 flower girls and my two sons are ushers we can all got together and we can blast some party tunes which I think they will all love. It cost £185 (we are getting married about 15 miles from my house)0

what i meant was, if everyone you like enough to be invited is already in the church waiting for you, then you could pull up in a tank but nobody will see it but the neighbours?
We've got the bride arriving at the church in a mk2 Jag, that will also take the two of us on to the reception.
I don't really care if anyone else sees, I care that me and my new wife will be driven to the reception in a beautiful old car, enjoying champagne, chocolates and a chat in the back seat. Seems like a great way to spend your first few minutes of marriage, to me.0 -
We were lucky that 1 car was thrown in with the venue package which is the classic wedding car. I then looked into transport for the BM and to have a matching car would cost us £290! It is not worth it, so i looked into alternatives. I will hire a mini bus for OH/Ushers/OH parents and kids and have hired an executive car for BM at £72. All of these have said they will do a couple of trips if we want but i'm planning on having all the family photos with OH before we are married as the venue doesn't have any nice gardens. So we are doing first look photos (very American) so that the only people that will actually miss out on the day is me and OH who will sneak away for more photos after ceremony for half hour
We will then do a couple of group shots and bobs your uncle we've been there for most of the day
:DStolen the OH's account so it's Jenna - not Neil:D0 -
if you really want classic cars/transport consider talking to a local classic cars club. we personally are thinking of getting a routemaster bus to transport guest to and from venues and using a neighbours car as the brides car.:kisses3: Married 29th September 20120

Weve got a routemaster bus which seats up to 72 for all our guests. Im struggling though what to do about myself, my dad and my bridesmaids. Myself and my bridesmaids will all be staying at the hotel near the church the night before but because this is 50 miles away from our home we chose to get the bus for everyone else. I am looking into getting another car but its an expense that we cant really afford (because ive gone over budget with my dress whooops!!)
Has anyone else been a guest to a wedding who had a bus, did the bride and groom get on the bus afterwards with everyone else to the venue or did they have another car? ive tried asking family but no one has any cars that we could use really. i was looking at hiring a car for my OH as a surprise for him and his best man (even though he has said he doesnt mind going on the bus) but they are all £400+ as he has very expensive taste in cars.0 -
rubysmummy i REALLY wanted a bus, a big old red double decker thing with ribbons and a personalised sign on the front but they are so expensive, I live in the midde of nowhere so the costs were huge just to get the bus to us in the first place
but i can say now that if we could have shelled out on the bus we would have been on it with everyone else0 -
I went to one with a bus a couple of months back...the bride and groom arrived serperately in another car, so people could watch them arrive.
Poor old bus really struggled up some of the hills, though, really wasn't sure it was going to make it.
If I were having a bus, though, I agree with CG - I'd probably have to be on it, in the back row, probably0 -
