My OH has organised my transport and i won't know what it is until it arrives to take me to the church and he is travelling to the church in the Only Fools and Horse yellow robin reliant van as he is a massive fan, i think its so fab that he gets to have something that he wants so its not just all about me.Engaged 16th July 2010:j. We are having a split screen VW Camper van in sage green to match the bridesmaids. It's certainly not to look good infront of the neighbours (What a strange thing to say), it's because we love them and, well.. Can have what we want!2010 Competition Wins - Swarovski Crystal Earrings, Handmade Greeting Card, £500 Jewellery Voucher.

Originally I planned to stay at the hotel we're getting married in the night before, nut I really wanted my own bed the night before. I couldn't justify the expense of cars even though I'd always dreamed of it and our venue has a long, sweeping tree lined drive which would be perfect. I said I'd get executive cars but my mum put her foot down and paid. So my bms will be arriving in a classic Daimler limo and I will be in a classic 1930 Daimler. I'm quite excited.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

not strange really...
what i meant was, if everyone you like enough to be invited is already in the church waiting for you, then you could pull up in a tank but nobody will see it but the neighbours?
i understand that if its something you have always wanted then it might be important to you but try and see it this way... you have probably spent a lot on getting a campervan to take you (a van that matches your colour scheme no less) thats extra money that other brides might rather spend elsewhere... as i said, as long as i get there i dont mind!
before we moved we lived a 2 minute walk from the church so thats exactly what i was going to do, there are plenty of people who wouldnt dream of doing that!
Im not having a go at other peoples choices, Its just not that important to me or anyone else i happened to be talking to at the time, but then again neither are the flowers but i know some people go mad and spend hundreds on them too...0 -

I would love that! It would be fantastic!
Hire car for us, the venue is only 500 yards from the hotel

Not everybody is getting married in a church - I'm getting married in a Castle and can have all guests in the grounds awaiting the bride if I want to do it that way. Plus there's the journey to the reception/hotel/home/wherever.. I wouldn't be happy doing that in a taxi personally. I live in the country too so not really many neighbours to see me

And us! We are having a red '66 split screen camper called Rosie. It is the one expense we are having, it's our treat for our special day. We have a 30 minute journey each way, so that's a bit more of an excuse to splash out, but we could never afford one in 'real life' so we're having it!0 -
We decided to go for horse and carriage in the end, i wanted one from the start but didn't think we would be able to afford but have saved money in so many places (a lot to do with everybody on this wonderful forum
) we decided we should have something extra special. My bridesmaids will be following in my uncles car. We were going to get my uncle to take me too as I didn't see the point in spending so much money on a car. [STRIKE]Getting married to[/STRIKE] Married my soul mate on

Any recommendation for a reasonable company that supplies transport in the North West London/Watford Arera, mention a wedding and the price jumps up. The budget is suffering, so am I.0

We are planning on getting a London Taxi for £60 which covers about an hour I think which is all we need. It will be done up with some ribbons and flowers in the back, and the driver in a suit. Perfect for a big dress too as there is so much space. For BM's and various others at the house, we will just get one of the nice cars that sit outside a local hotel. They are nice clean sedan style cars which will be fine.
The other option we are seriously considering just leaving some notes on cars in my area. There is a beautiful old white Rolls Royce on one street that is clearly someone's pride and joy. I am hoping they would be keen to just drive Dad and I in exchange for a good clean and detail of his car! Seems a waste to pay when there are so many really nice cars in the local area.0
