Hi BarJam
Have you thought about a cashback deal on a monthly line rental ?
For my DD I brought a Nokia on a £20.00 a month (11 months free) off peak deal.
The phones come unlocked, so you could disregard the sim and use a PAYG sim in it's place.
See here for an example- http://www.e2save.com/mobile/phones/disphandset.php?network=orange&handset=6111PKCL
The first few months your paying in advance ie £80, but once the cashbacks kick in, your in effect using the cashback for the following months line rentals.
After going through Quidco - her new phone has cost me nothing, infact I am in pocket by £16.50
Cheers
Billie

I have a Motorola L6 and I like it. It's very slim, has a camera, video and bluetooth technology. I picked mine up for £60 from Orange so you should be able to find one a bit cheaper elsewhere.
I think someone, maybe browntoa, mentioned a while ago that the software on the L6 wasn't that reliable but I haven't had any problems ... yet0 -

Can't answer that one 'cos I have no idea what a 9 year old would need. Have a look here, though: http://www.yourmobilephonereviews.co.uk/motorola_l6_reviews.htm - full technical spec, review and pictures.
Hope this helps.0 -
