    work - i use XP
Home - i use Ubuntu on my main computer unless i want to play a game then i boot into vista 64 (cant see the point in spending money upgrading to windows 7 when i only boot into it to play a game) and then run Lubuntu on my laptop
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

    Windows 7 is already, actually.

XP has more holes than swiss cheese. Only a moron would choose Windows XP over Windows 7.

Depends on the age/spec of your computer. Depends on your pocket.
All my machines still run XP because I don't need a shiny new computer. I can do all the things I need to on a few P3 & P4 computers.

P.S. You may find the morons are easily recognised. They'd be the ones with "ME! Me Me!" tattooed across their foreheads.

    Spot on

Windows 7 64bit runs flawless on my home built PC.

it's extremely nimble and looks nice too

vista was a failure due to it's system resources hogging

XP was a good OS but imo it's extremely dated now

I'm surprised not one single person has selected "Windows other" - doesn't anybody still use Windows 2000? I know it's been a long time, and it is definitely not the most secure operating system, but nobody still uses it? I must be getting old! :D
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

  • Not found vista to be any worse than XP to be honest, not really an improvement but no worse. If you want to see a real M$ OS disaster go and take a look at Windows ME now that truly was an unusable PoS.

Anyway I use vista on my gaming machine and have an old box which has slackware as the OS for a LAMP setup. Also got a netbook running win 7 starter, and knoppix on a usb stick for it. Also have a couple of laptops which are running win7 and xp.
There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Microsoft certainly showed a complete disregard for security until Vista... but I have never had a virus in XP in over 8 years of use (although I picked up the Xupiter Toolbar in a drive-by installation once). I turn off un-necessary services (such as Remote Registry, Telnet server, etc.) and SPI on my router seems to be protecting me from Internet-based attacks.

I have an old 1GHz PIII running XP that's used as a headless print server. I wrote a script to update the anti-malware applications, which is scheduled to run daily. The PC is never used for web browsing.

Why exactly am I a moron? I would have thought that only a moron would think of installing Windows 7 on a 1GHz PIII with 448MB RAM...

I also have an old media centre PC that I rarely use and don't want to spend any money on - am I a moron for choosing to stay with XP there? What about our 4 year old laptop? Should I blow another £80 on that too? What about running XP on my main Core i7 PC? I only ever boot into XP to use an old version of Acronis TrueImage that isn't compatible with Windows 7 64-bit. Should I shell out more money when the system I have works perfectly well?
