Hi tixy and ames I believe there is a virus going round, I hope you soon feel betterIf you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours0 -
Spammer's post have all gone.
Madcat, the only virus I've got is 'eyestoobigforbellyitis'!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Good evening spamblasters, what a beautiful day it has been! I do hope summer is here at last, have been a bit fed up with all the wind and rain etc.
Ames - yah boo sucks to red tape and bureaucracy! Have you a case worker/social worker? Maybe he/she can put a case for you to use that money for housing purposes? Have you checked the small print related to your particular benefits? Sorry if these are obvious questions but I suspect some government employees are not too sure of all the rules themselves. One life - your life - live it!0 -

Ames - just read your earlier post - the jobcentre, is it? I think you will find there are a few people on these forums who have at some time or other been given inaccurate information by jobcentre staff, and more than a few who have complained about the attitude of same staff. Not that I am tarring them all with the same brush of course, but it does make you wonder whether our whole benefits system is a tad too complex? One life - your life - live it!0

I don't have a social worker. I had an assessment where they said all kinds of crap (like it was better for my independence for me not to get dressed than to have help with it), then I had another assessment where I was given help but then the financial assessment refused to take into account my mental health care needs, like the cost of meeting my support worker or going to therapeutic activities so I had to choose between physical and mental support, I went with mental. I do have a support worker, but it's more 'life skills' stuff, like making sure I have stuff to do, or helping with setting goals and things. Because of her I can't get a CPN or counselling.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

How about MIND, the charity that helps people with mental health problems? Might be worth Googling them! One life - your life - live it!0

I've tried them before, they don't offer individual help round here, just group sessions.
I know it seems like I'm throwing cold water on everyone's suggestions, I'm really not, it's just that there are some huge gaps in service provision and I seem to fall through them all.
Right now I'm trying to get through to dad to talk to him, but he goes out at 9.30 on a Thursday and it's been engaged for the last 20 mins. I'm assuming it's my sister, who I've called twice today, so I'm a bit annoyed that she's hogging the phone when she knows I need support.
And I've just been to collect my meds, neither of the pharmacies I could get to have them. Brilliant day to be told 'can't you just miss a couple of days of your anti-psychotics'.
At least I have comfort food (cold pizza yum) and a few recorded tv shows to distract me. And the couple of dozen books I bought on holiday.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
