    Fred - consider yourself bumped.

Spoon - I too would hate to miss out on the wet paint NSD prize. Just remember that yellow is not really my colour but I look pretty hot in royal blue.

How about red, Nargle, I got a job lot:D
I checked out my post history yesterday and the latest post shown was something like 5th May - so I have been imagining that I have been on here the past 2 weeks then?

I tell you, there be aliens out there messing with our computers!

    Oooh errr... that's a bit odd:eek:

    Hello and Welcome

A long time ago Pania wrote the message below to Newcomers or anyone who comes across a troll on the forum.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

    What is a Troll?
A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made. If you should get such a comment made on any thread you post, asking for help and advice, please realise this comment is not directed at you personally so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal because the majority of us really are a lovely bunch – ooops, modesty!

What should I do if I get a comment made on my thread?
Firstly do not respond to the comment as this is invariably what the troll wants. So to get rid of the offending post, at the bottom of the post towards the right hand side you’ll see a red "Warning" triangle within a blue “Report” icon, as shown below:

    report.gif

Click the icon and then "send" the message which will inform the MSE team of the post, who will then review its content and deal with it as appropriate; sometimes even deleting the troll by making their status PPR’d (Posting Privileges Removed). Remember, this site is an asset to so many people, especially those that feels like their world is falling in around them. There is a wealth of knowledgeable people here all willing to help, whatever you do, do not let the comments of one silly individual deter you from availing yourself of the knowledge base that is on offer here.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE FORUM

It is testament to the work that Martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time, knowledge and experience freely to others; without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of their debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT

    Once again thanks to Spoon.:D

Good Evening All. Carp finish to the day. The Car I bought 2 weeks ago and haven't driven yet is Knackered. I test drove it, did all the checks fine. The Guy I bought it from delivered it to me to save me a 140 mile round trip. I parked it up and that was it. I was waiting till the end of the month to Tax it and as my insurance is due at the same time, sort that and then put it on the road.

I thought I would run it up for an while this evening to put some charge in the battery.
Smoke and Steam. It looks like a blown head gasket, no oil in the sump either. Looks like he ran it dry on the way down to me.

Well someones going to get a phone call in the morning. There is an easy solution, a sensible solution and he wont ever sell another car again solution. Good job I haven't sold my old one yet. If you don't hear from me for a while after this weekend It will be that I am camping on his forecourt with a placard saying don't buy from this dealer.

Apart from this little hiccup, Handy is fine:D

Yeh my fault for buying from Arfur Daily.

We got it mainly cos DD was without a car and we were going to loan it her as we are all on holiday together in a few weeks. As it happens they sorted themselves out with a car and I haven't sold my old one yet. But I cant and don't intend to be much out of pocket. The dealer can either refund me, Replace or Repair, or else watch this space. I bought in good faith and although its only a 10 year old cheapy (£1500 ) I have the law on my side for a change. I have looked at what Trading Standards has to say and I should at least be Roadworthy.

I don't hold out much hope in using trading standards as a lever if he doesn't want to co operate. Might just have to resort to using "The Management" said as donning a leather jacket and dark glasses.:D

Good Night All, wooden Hill calling. Steam has now stopped leaking from Handy's ears.

I will let you know what happens in the morning.
Regards, Handy.:D (still managing a grin).
