  • findingmyownway - I use myfitnesspal.com it's free and you add in your current weight and your goal weight and it tells you how many cals you should eat to achieve that. It also has a food diary where you can log what you eat and find out cals and stuff - i'm going to try and use that to keep track!
  • Oooh, I'll jump on this challenge, need a kick up the behind! Wednesday will be my weigh-in day and starting weight is (gulp) 167lb. I am 5'7'' and would like to lose about a stone so I can get into all the lovely clothes that have got tighter and tighter since moving in with OH 2 years ago.

Wkdhoney - how are you finding slimming world? I think I could do with being weighed by a scary lady every week but I'm a bit scared to go incase the people who are there with lots of weight to lose think I'm being a bit of a plonker! For now I'm going to go with weaighing myself and if that doesn't work then maybe a club will be the answer!

Does anyone else here enjoy their wine at the weekend? I generally would drink a bottle over the course of the weekend and am hoping to continue this treat as long as I factor it into my calorie allowance, is this really bad?! Argh, if only a gin and slim held the same attraction!

Slimming world is great although I don't go to class. I weigh in at home in front of the husband on the wii (he does it as well) and it's so much worse then any scary woman at a class as I can't really pretend I don't know how I managed to maintain/gain weight as he knows what I've eaten  I've just got the book and stick to that. So far it's working but slowing down now which is why I'm cracking on with exercise.

Oh I do love a glass of wine (or bottle!) at the weekend. Now I try and drink as little as possible but when I do I have a white wine with lots of ice and diet lemonade to make it last a bit longer. It doesn't always work and sometimes I go a bit mad but the hangovers aren't as bad as when I just drank straight wine which is nice. :p The other thing I do is save my 'sins' I guess it would be calories for you up for the weekend if I know I'm going to have a big night out.

Well done on going for the plain biscuits!

  • I have lost a stone & a half since my heaviest and have two, or just over it, to go to get to where I want to be in order to get to 15 & a half stone, or just over it. I already feel much better for it, and almost everyone that I know has commented on how well I am looking. I am still just under 18 stone, but am 6ft. 3", if you're wondering. Hope to have got to target weight of, let's say, 15 stone 10lbs by 1st April. Have already lost just over a stone in the past 5 weeks. I have gained a good bit of muscle, so it is all good.

Good luck, one and all. It makes total sense to look and feel great, doesn't it...?!?? :) :T

    Hi all
I am doing well today foodwise, had 2 boiled eggs and 2 walnuts for brekkie and am still full!

The hard work at Curves is also starting to make me feel fitter again and my legs are looking more toned (or maybe I am just imagining it lol).

rachbc - hope you feel up to running soon and take it easy xo

wkdhoney - at weighing in in front of your OH!!!! :rotfl:

  • Hello girls and BigAndy!! Yay, love that we have a little community already in this thread!

I did a spin class and a body pump class last night but wasn't feeling great and didn't give either 100%. Think I'll have a break tonight and then hopefully my legs will be feeling in top form for a run tomorrow evening!

Welcome ladyb!! I see a common theme with OH's and weight gain lol!!

    Rachbc, I'm training for a 10k too, it's in April - when's yours?

wkdhoney - i've just made a pact with bf that I'll weigh myself in the gym every week and keep the printouts and then show him them on the last Monday of the month ahhhhh! I'm far too embarassed to show him now but hopefully it will be incentive to get those numbers down!! Good lemonade/wine tip by the way - will be trying that this weekend :)

Now to be nosy, what age is everyone? Lots of us seem to be in and around the same weight, is anyone else in their late twenties?! It's ok if you'd rather not give it away though!!!

Today I've eaten lots already and only left myself with enough cals for soup for tea again *sigh*, thankfully though I haven't been shopping yet this week and so there's very little else in my fridge/cupboards so there won't be too much temptation when I get home from work!

Hope you're all having a good day :)

  • startingtosave, I was 30 last year so almost in my late twenties! Often get id'd buying booze though so I kid myself I'm still a spring chicken! I have been to pilates this evening then had stir-fry for tea so feeling very virtuous, must resist the siren's call of wine and chocolate. Moving in with OH was definitely the beginning of the end for my waist, it has gone totally awol lately and I would love to have it back!

    Hello all!

I had a mini weigh in at work and I've maintained. Doh! Think I'm hitting a bit of a plateau so will have to change what I'm eating or rather the amount eating. Doh.

I'm 25 so definately mid 20's. This weekend there is a party on so I'm driving to that so I don't drink and I'll still be able to make it to the gym sunday morning.. Well that's the plan.. :D

Stangely enough moving in with my other half was the end for my waist line as well. Eating the same portions and generally the same as him, lots of nights in with a dvd and some chocolate. It was going to end badly for my bmi
