What you should do is go to self scan putthrough your shopping, press finish and pay then there is an option to enter coupons. Press the screen for this and scan the coupon the £5 will come off automoatcally.
Hope this helps

I did just that, but it came up requiring authority - which Tesco refused to give!0 -

Please to hear that lots of you are abl to take advantage of this deal :j sorry to those of you who have difficult checkout operators/managers who refuse to take them. Anyone would think the money was coming out of their pocket
I always use the self scanning tills for things like this and go late at night or at the weekend when they have students supervising the self service tills who really couldn't care less and put all vouchers through :T

Just noticed another little thing that will please you all. The MOC's come off after the total as if they were payment which means that we are getting clubcard points on the deal too. Only 10 points per pack, but every little helps !Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)

Both me and my Mum managed to use ours in Tesco (Eastbourne) today. Cashier said that it may not scan as item was already on promotion but it worked fine. Thanks OP0

Thanks, bec28 - worked just fine. Self-serve checkout wouldn't take it without an assistant, but she just put it through.
What really puzzles me, though, is why anyone would buy these at full price? What do they actually achieve, apart from selling grossly overpriced detergent in a pointless piece of overpackaging? Is it really so difficult to take a tablet out of a cupboard and pop it in the detergent dispenser? :question:0 -
Used mine yesterday no probs -self service. Although it did ask for authorisation.0
