The Sun P&O Ferry To Calais

Can someone advise me on whether what i'm doing will result in trouble free travelling??
My idea is, to use the Suns deal with P&O (seen here: https://www.thesun.co.uk/france).
Book a return 13 April, 8am dept. from Dover Return 13th April 16:00 from Calais
- But not actually return.
Then book a return 24 April, 8am dept from Dover, Return 24th April 15:00 from Calais
- And ONLY use the return part of the ticket.
Ideas?? Anyone done this before?? Im worried I will have to validate the return ticket on the departure!

Most travel carriers take a very dim view of this kind of thing (because of the impact on their revenues) and won't let you board a return leg when you haven't travelled on the outward leg.
Some carriers, for example Eurotunnel, even take a dim view of you failing to use the return leg when you have used the outward leg, and have been known to charge credit cards subsequently with the difference between a day return and a single fare. With Eurotunnel, this can be circumvented by booking the return leg for a time immediately following the arrival of your outward leg, and then exiting the terminal via the exit lane immediately after going through checkin for the return leg. You might be able to do something similar with the ferries.0 -
P&O can charge the difference between the Sun price and a drive on single to your card when you fail to return on the first ticket. Their T&C say they may do this - whether in reality they do so I don't know. They will make their T&C VERY clear - you won't be able to plead ignorance.
Your entire second booking will be cancelled when you fail to turn up for the outward leg and you will be refused boarding for the return to Dover unless you buy a new ticket.0 -
Decided against that idea, and found 'Norfolkline' ferries are a lot cheaper.
£38 for exactly what I wanted, depart 13th April at 8am, return 24th April at 8pm.
Cheers anyway guys.0
