What about the half price merlin card deals, they would then get you on london eye, madame tu, london dungeons, aquarium etc. They also last a year. I found it the cheapest way to go to the main attractions.
Make £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.
  • Yeah seriously don't bother with Madame Tussaud's. Why that place ever became a tourist attraction is beyond me. We just go for long walks around the interesting bits like Brick Lane, Hampstead, the parks etc. and save all our money for delicious food we find along the way.

If you get paper travelcards from Wembley Stadium Railway Station they will be valid for 2-for-1 as the station is managed by Chiltern Railways which is a train company participating in the scheme.

Wembley Central travelcards would not be valid as that's managed by London Overground.

You can buy them in advance from any National Rail station if that's more convenient. Just check the clerk forward-dates them.

Wembley Stadium station is unstaffed - which means you would need to buy them from the ticket machine and won't (AFAIK) be able to buy them for a different day's travel.

OP check tfl website for tube closures if you are there at the weekend, I know this weekend there is no service on the Met and Jubilee from Wembley Park stadium. The Met line has lots of tube closures at the minute, the Jubilee has a few left (should have been done by now!). If not get the bakerloo from Wembley Central.

I would also suggest the 2 for 1 Merlin deals. I would recommend Hyde Park as well for a nice walk around and a picnic. I've just had a good day in central london walking around getting to know it a bit better.

Covent Garden is always very busy.

I would suggest getting vouchers for restaurants before you go. My suggestions would be The Real Greek, Fire and Stone (pizza place), Las Iguanas (South American), Bodeans (American BBQ).
