Why is my car insurance so expensive

I used to drive a Peugeot 405 1900cc car but decided to downgrade to a smaller engine car to pay less road tax. I have 9 years no claims bonus and am of a mature age.
I changed to a Ford Fiesta 1272cc engine of similar value with a vehicle immobiliser. I have checked out various Price comparison sites and found the Fiesta quoted nearly £300 with the Peugeot at £159. I dont understand why this could be? Can anyone shed some light on this?

Because they have more claims from fiesta drivers.
And it might cost more to fix.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Mileage also matters. If you're planning on doing 20,000 miles and your buddies are doing 6,000 then your premium will be significantly more.0
