Your post is misleading these fridges will most definately NOT sell for £1 as they are auctioned and this is only the start price of the auctions.
In fact I'd go so far as to say your post will ensure they don't go for £1 just by drawing attention to them, not that it wouldn't have been a very useful post had it been more precise in its description.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
This site has been around for a fair while, highly unlikely any of the items will go for a £. Better bargains found in store.0

thought it were too good to be true :-(0

someone may find a bargain though...0

I looked at this site a couple of years ago when it first started and sadly all the items go for ridiculous prices! In fact I have seen items going for more than the retail price on the main Comet site, and often cheaper at other shops....

Our new cooker arrived this week, £80 less than the store price (even using PriceRunner). We saved £120 on a fridge freezer last year and saved £150 on a washing machine which B&Q recently flogged off for £50 more than we paid.
It's simple. Bid up to your limit and if it goes above it then just walk away.
If you compete with the idiots who want to save a fiver or who are stooooopid enough to go over the odds then the sky is your limit.0 -
Also bear in mind that a lot of the auction items are shop soiled / slightly damaged, but many of the knocks are superficial only.
Still, worth a look though if you're in need of a fridge right now !0 -
I'd agree with Coldfinger. We've had a washing machine and a fridge via this site. Both around £80-£90 off the price theyr'e currently selling for in Comet. The fridge was supposed to have a scratch on it but I looked and looked and couldn't see one and apart from that it looks brand new and works brilliantly. Also they were late in delivering so offered to refund the delivery charge!
I'd say if you're after something specific it's well worth a look but obviously don't be drawn in and bid more than you're comfortable with. I was lucky with the fridge because I noted the sort of times that the other people who were interested in this item had been bidding and I guessed that they might not have access to make a bid at a certain time just before the bid closed - so I placed my bid as close as possible to the closing time and I think that theory worked.
You can bid up to your maximum and the site continues to place bids for you up to that maximum - so if someone else bids £10 and you've already bid a maximum of £30 it will put in, say, a bid for £20. The reason for this is that most of the items state that the bids must go up in £10 increments.

I just bid on a freezer because it was starting at a £1, and it asked me to put in my card details, and said delivery is £29.95. When I looked at the site more some of the items are reaching retail price, so if you add on the shipping your not getting a good deal at all!!0
