Forget your IP location, that has nothing to do with the speed, your IP location may have changed because your local Hubsite may not have the servers for the 50Mb service so you have been routed thru to the nearest one.
For example, the Headend serving Londonderry is in Belfast, over 90miles away.
  • Thanks yeah i guess it was because they switched servers, but as long as its not the cause of my speed, its logical to associate the distance from where my ip address to the lack of any extra speed if yr just an average comp user like me,It wouldnt be a suprise to expect a faceless multinational to sign up everyone regardless, Seem to get steady results turning of the Kaspersky AV, and my ip distance beats yours by some 150 miles more lol, many thanks again

there are very few speed test sites that can get close to virgin 's 50mbs speeds never mind the new 100mbs ,
my list is below ,the ones i fined that work with 50mbs (may not work for you)

    http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/
    http://www.tenmeg.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/speedtest2.htm
    http://www.speedtest.net/
http://gamefiles.virginmedia.com/blueyondergames/ you might have to down load more than item and make it big too

when your downloading from normal site you only get the speed they can give ,not what your BB can do ,some poeple us download managers but it only ends up been a minute to a ffew seconds less in the end ,not hours like dial up.

i do not know any thing about these new modem router hubs but what i have seen thier not very good just ,new hardware needs bugs ironing out still
there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff
