If the conservatives continue to pursue the policies they are pursuing we will be crippled with debt for a lot longer than under Labour.
We will end up with both evils - low growth and a big deficit.
Maybe
Or
Maybe not
Either way I can guarantee that whatever data/opinion/policy we pour over and use to consolidate our entrenched positions time after time after time, the impact on what actually happens out there in the real world will be Zero. Zip. Squat.
I'm reading a book on WW1 at the moment. Much like trench warfare this whole cuts/no cuts debate on MSE is starting to seem well....all a bit pointless really.Go round the green binbags. Turn right at the mouldy George Elliot, forward, forward, and turn left....at the dead badger0 -
You've said a lot of ridiculous things, but this has to be one of the best.
So your way to get out of debt faster is to add £150bn a year to the national debt.
That makes so much sense, you know seeing as tax revenue has fallen by only £30bn over the last 2 years, which has seen one of the deepest recessions in history. But yes, Im sure tax revenue will increase by £200bn in the next few years to make up the deficit. Stop living in a dreamworld.
Periods of no growth are not alien to this country, we have had them in the past, and guess what, tax revenue has always gone up. Likewise, we have had periods of high growth, but it doesn't suddenly increase tax revenue by 50% in a few years time.
Either back up your stupid statements with some real facts, or stop spouting rubbish.
I have backed my opinion up with lots of evidence. Perhaps, you should read the thread?
I hope you are right about tax revenues going up. I really do.:)If you keep doing what you've always done - you will keep getting what you've always got.0 -

ot the cyber equivalent of sticking you fingers in your ears and going la la la la la to save hearing something you do not wish to.
Not at all. I'm quite happy to read any posts that enlighten me.
Please show me any evidence that the Government cuts are a good idea?
.....And just 'cos you say, so isn't evidence in my book - nor are articles from the Mail or the ExpressIf you keep doing what you've always done - you will keep getting what you've always got.0 -
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
