Sadly any efforts to save money today are a mere drop in the ocean when compared to the money I have "spent".
Boiler has been struggling for months, even though only 5 years old, and could not face any more mornings with no heating or hot water so have taken the plunge and had a new one fitted.
Full condensing, A efficiency and optimising (not sure if the last will really make any difference though) so hopefully gas bill will go down a bit as a result, but probably be years before break even as the old boiler was not massively inefficient, just very flaky!:(
On the plus side, I've eaten soup for lunch that was on last date of Use By - so avoided wasting any money there and I can still count it as a NSD as I have not left the house whilst engineers been here except to walk the dog and didn't have to pay them today.
The other thing I have done is move as much money round as I can so the maximum is paid on my debit card (so avoiding a 2.5% CC fee on most of the invoice) but the relatively small balance (£300.00) will be on CC at 0% thereby making sure I get Section 75 protection though I will incur a small fee for that bit.Debt Free since Nov 11 (ish) (except the £118000 mortgage) as at Jan 2013 but still hanging around DFW as I need to Stay On Track.

Hiya!
Sorry I haven't been on for a day or two - funeral etc - but all over with now and back to normal with work.
Haven't had a chance to catch up really but hope you're all well?
My teeny list for today...- Checked banks - not good
- Walked dog twice
- Took lunch to work
- Storecupboard tea
- Ignored petrol light when it came on just as I got home (only work 2 miles away so I'll carry on ignoring it for a day or two!)
- Stay in tonight and watch telly - good stuff starting tonight
- Have a bath and a relax for the first time in weeks
- Cleaned kitchen
