Morning all!
I've had a virusy weekend, and am feeling pretty under the weather this morning too, and I'm sure it affects how I feel about the finances. Everyone else seems so motivated here, and I just feel a bit rubbish by comparison. BUT, determined to look on the bright side, at least I know I have things in hand - or am getting there. And OH is due an overtime payment next week, which, instead of being absorbed into the general funds and frittered, is going to be used wisely for a change. And, despite virus, I still managed to feed the family on what we have, rather than resorting to takeaways. So that's a good move.
Small stuff for the day:
- checked banking
- checked/done a couple of surveys, check again later
- do comps
- heating off
- clean fridge and freezer, do inventory and make menu and shopping list accordingly
- wash curtains which were the unfortunate victims of a soup accident at the weekend. Not sure how/where to dry them, but not in tumble dryer
- try to sort out a few items to ebay (never done this before, but sure I have stuff that could make a few pennies)
Hope everyone has a good day2011 wins: 2 day gym membership, film download, NETBOOK!Debt at LBM: [STRIKE][/STRIKE] [STRIKE]26/1/11 = £4733.26[/STRIKE] 11/6/11 = £3759.3840 -

I know what you mean, if I feel a bit down about something else it tends to make me feel quite negative about our current finances too, despite the fact that we have paid off over 1k now!
What you need to remember is that despite being ill you have done brilliantly! Everything you said is a great small step, be proud of them:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

I have got to phone the tax credits people today. After my lightbulb moment on Jan 5th I was great about ringing up to get the form, but because our situation is complex I can't fill it in...and I seem to have a terrible mental block when it comes to phoning up. It stresses me so much it paralyses me and I can't do it. Every day I leave it, I am losing more than £10...I can't afford to do that! I really want today to be the day I finally do it! Anyone have any tips on overcoming fear of doing things like this?
Hiya there Rachels
DNMS has given you some wonderful tips
I would just like to add to that. The anticapation of fear is often greater than the act itself. This is very common for peeps who suffer from stress or anxiety!! You've done really well the get the form. Anxiety is a feeling that we want to avoid, so the more we avoid that feeling, the worse it can get. It's an irrational fear for many who are often plagued with thoughts of doubt, what will others think of us, and can we cope. The answer is YES YOU CAN. what you think is not what the other person you have to deal with is thinking.
You might be surprised to find they are very helpful and will go through the form with you with patience. It's ok to say you find it a little bit complex, they are there to help you and support you. The whole idea of challenging what you think you believe is real , the fear, is to put that belief to the test! in other words, ' is it really as scary as I thought?
It's a very big step to make that call, and a little bit of understanding how anxiety works, hopefully will help you to make that call and it's ok to call on the help of those around you, to give you that added bit of confidence!!! and in your own words,
' I really want today to be the day I finally do it' and later I hear you saying
' I have made that phone call' yahhhhhhhhh:T
Have a great day, stay positive!! and you do have the , I can do it attitude!!!:D0
