Hi there,
I have a a credit card with Lloyds TSB and online they have offered me a balance transfer of 6 month @ 0 %, however, on the main website it is offering 0 % for 14 month's!! I have contacted them but they won't let me do that and it doesnt state that you have to be a new customer to get this deal, any one know how I can get round this to get the 0 % for 14 months?
I applied for a new card with them but got a letter stating as I already have an account with them they can't let me have another one..........
any advice will be appreciated..

Close the old card down completely then wait 6 months and re-apply for the card - hope the deal is still there for you.0

I have thought of that, but knowing my luck they either won't have the deal on any more or won't let me apply for one!0

Not necessarily true, although that may be their intention!
If
-it doesn't say that it only applies to new customers / accounts, AND
-you applied using the link on the website AND
-you were accepted
then you would have a very good chance of receiving the advertised offer.
Some years ago I was sent a personalised promotional postcard from egg offering a 0% Balance Transfer offer. It did not say: new accounts or new customers only.
I already had an egg card so assumed it applied to the existing account and acted accordingly. Egg though differently; but after the Ombudsman contacted egg, I was offered, and accepted £50 compensation for the interest charges and time taken!
Moral: study the small print carefully and take screen shots / pdf prints of every stage of the application process so that you have a copy of every piece of information that is offered. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
