Lloyds TSB Credit Card

Hi there,

I have a a credit card with Lloyds TSB and online they have offered me a balance transfer of 6 month @ 0 %, however, on the main website it is offering 0 % for 14 month's!! I have contacted them but they won't let me do that and it doesnt state that you have to be a new customer to get this deal, any one know how I can get round this to get the 0 % for 14 months?

I applied for a new card with them but got a letter stating as I already have an account with them they can't let me have another one..........

any advice will be appreciated..

  • Close the old card down completely then wait 6 months and re-apply for the card - hope the deal is still there for you.
  • I have thought of that,but knowing my luck they either won't have the deal on any more or won't let me apply for one!

    I have 5 Credit cards and have NEVER EVER had a problem UNTIL I took a Lloyds TSB Airmiles card.

    Not necessarily true, although that may be their intention!
    If
    -it doesn't say that it only applies to new customers / accounts, AND
    -you applied using the link on the website AND
    -you were accepted
    then you would have a very good chance of receiving the advertised offer.

    Some years ago I was sent a personalised promotional postcard from egg offering a 0% Balance Transfer offer. It did not say: new accounts or new customers only.
    I already had an egg card so assumed it applied to the existing account and acted accordingly. Egg though differently; but after the Ombudsman contacted egg, I was offered, and accepted £50 compensation for the interest charges and time taken!

    Moral: study the small print carefully and take screen shots / pdf prints of every stage of the application process so that you have a copy of every piece of information that is offered.
