Broadband for the Inlaws!

I have been instructed to find them the best deal, they currently have a BT line with phone but would like Broadband having just ordered a Laptop.

They just want to (silver) surf the Internet and send e-mails, not much downloading. I also believe they would like a pay as you go type but i think if it was good/cheap enough would commit to something else.

I did look at the thread titled 'Broadband for £4.49 per month' which looked ok.

Anyone advise?

Ta.

While i await some replies i did a little digging myself and used the sam knows website and it came up with these as available with plusnet being the cheapest no idea if they are any good though.

    BT Wholesale ADSL
    BT Wholesale ADSL Max
    BT Wholesale WBC (21CN)
    AOL LLU
    O2 / Be LLU
    Bulldog LLU
    TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
    Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
    Tiscali LLU
    Tiscali TV (via Tiscali LLU)
    Orange LLU (Formerly Wanadoo)
    Virgin Media (Cable)

I have a feeling they would like to go with BT as they currently have a phone with them but i guess it will be alot more expensive, anyone know how much to add Broadband?

Nope no Sky, not interested in all that!

Plusnet is £6.49 a month with the first 3 months free at the moment, seems a great deal that unless i'm missing something.

O2 would be the obvious LLU choice there. If they (or another person in the family) have an O2 mobile, then the £5 discount applies, alomg with the Quidco cashback of course.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Does a o2 pay as you go count? think the old fella has that.

Yes, contract or PAYG will qualify. You need to top up £10 in each 3 month period to retain the discount. It's a no-brainer, as you are spending £40 to save £60.

Be aware that the £6.49 price assumes you are on a zone 1 (is that right?) exchange. I have been a Plusnet customer for several years but on their option 1, 2gb limit, and they want me to pay £12.99 for the value plan. That's £3 pound more than I'm paying. Do check their availability at your exchange.

No, £6.49 applies to Market 3 exchanges only, otherwise it's £12.99.
