Blackberry without data plan?????

I want to get a Blackberry for calls / texts. Also for editing small spreadsheets, word docs.

I would like occasional internet / email access but using WiFi rather than paying for Blackberry data services.

Is this possible??

Thanks

Yes, but if you should use mobile data by accident some of the networks charge up to £10 a meg if you have no bundle.

If you're very careful you should be ok...
  • erm, i was under the impression, that unless you had a blackberry data plan, you would not be able to recieve push email. only access it over the browser (which isn't great). In my opinion, defeats the point of a blackberry.

Dont know about other models but I have the 8900 and you can switch data on or off. If its switched on you can choose wifi only/preferred or mobile network only/preferred.
