Can a Loan Company make you cancel your Phone Contract to pay them?

Do you have an online account with FLM and does the email address and password you use for that match the email and password that you use on facebook? There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.0 -
At the end of the day no company, finance based or otherwise, can make you do something you don’t want to do. They're obviously trying to do what they can to get some money out of you (we already know that FLM has used some underhanded tactics in the past to get money owed to them). I do think though that a company of this size would be crazy to risk 'Hacking' your account to just use the fact that you've been looking for gym equipment against you. As someone has mentioned to you already, Facebook seem to change things and wipe settings all the time. Are you sure that this information cant be viewed when you simply find your page?
Couple of questions...
Are you currently behind with your FLM loan?
I would seriously look at changing phone supplier. £40 a month is really high, unless you have a TV package on there as well? Have you thought about reducing your Virgin package?
You say you owe 02 £700 odd, is this from a previous phone/internet package? That's a lot to owe to a phone company, be careful your Virgin doesn't go that way again.
My advice, don’t take what FLM tell you to heart, but do think about how you can cut back to free up some expenditure, and get this loan paid off quickly. No more loan, no more hassle and Facebook rape.New Years resolutions...don't get my signature removed and set up an A-Team style MSE crack survival team. P.S Apparently mrb1 and David 32 hate me. This makes me sad0 -
Even if the OP has the same password and username with the loan co as with FB it is still a criminal offence for them to impersonate im on FB.
The best thing to do is delete your FB account. FB is rubbish.0 -
Re: facebook my facebook password is completely different from anything else, due mainly to the ammount of info on there. Checked my settings last night and all still on friends only. So unless they are pretending to be one of my friends then no way do they have my page.
As for virgin, I'm on the lowest tarrif. They say it should only cost £25 a month but they don't yell you it costs £1 to phone your doctors.
My o2 debt was for my iPhone I had over a year ago. Got ill had to take time off from work, couldn't pay the bill.Total Debt: £1363.85
O2 - £719.85/£719.85 * FLM Loan - £300/£300 * PaydayExpress - £235/£235
Barclays - £109/£109 * HBOS - Paid!

Personally I would stop talking to them on the phone and send FLM a telephone harrasment letter asking for all future communication to be done in writing - see here - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=11571485&postcount=4 they won't put things like the facebook stuff in writing.
No creditor can tell you what you can spend your money on but if you are behind on your payments and have sent them an income & expenditure account they will look through it to see if they think your costs are reasonable. If they think you are spending on luxuries or have higher figures in some areas than they think is reasonable/normal then it does increase the chance they won't accept your repayment offer and will instead take you to court. If that did happen (which is probably not the likely with FLM) then a judge would look at your other outgoings to see if you can really afford more to repay the loan.
It might be a good idea to head across to the debt free wannabe board and post up the statement of affairs/income & expenditure that you sent to FLM. The people on there may be able to help suggest areas you can reduce costs, or may be able to suggest which costs FLM are discounting to come to a figure of a £100 surplus.
The other thing to consider and that they may be looking at is that all your creditors should be being treated equally - so if you put on your SoA that you are paying say £50 off your 02 debt of £719 then they'd expect a pro-rata equivalent amount.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

There is quite the difference between looking at somebody's FB page and impersonating them online.

Can I ask how it costs £1 to ring your doctor (not trying to be rude).
I'm with virgin, and once a year I ring customer retention for them to redo my contract so that I am paying no more than a new customer. Might be worth giving them a call and seeing if you can get the costs down.
As for facebook, I'm fed up of changing my security. Everytime they bring something new out I have to check and make sure all my settings are still on friends only.Payment a day challenge: £236.69
Jan Shopping Challenge: £202.09/£250
Frugal Living Challenge: £534.64/150000 -
I'm guessing the £1 for doctor calls is to do with the 0844/5 nonsense, at our practice you can be on half an hour before you get told you have to call back the day after and hope for the best.0

Posts appear to have been deleted (I can't see mine any more, what rules did I break?) but the general consensus was that if the privacy settings are configured as such, the company could possibly be resorting to logging in to the account with previously gathered information (eg: email and password if they have web-based account management with this company) but apparently that's not happened so the impersonation idea isn't possible. He wasn't saying looking == impersonation0 -
I don't get facebook.
The idea of having loads of firends that i have never met or even spoken to seems a litte creepy.0
