Can a Loan Company make you cancel your Phone Contract to pay them?
Options
I got a call form FLM today being complete idiots like usual, telling me I had over £100 in disposable income. I have no idea how they got this figure because there is no way it's even about £20 let alone £100.
Basically they are telling us to cancel my Landline phone contract so we can pay them. Saying we don't need it.
We need that phone for hospitals, doctors, jobs and benefits ect. Not for social calls. With line rental and call charges it comes to about £40 a month.
FLM told us today we don't need that phone. Even though as I've said above what we use it for. And are telling us to cancel our phone contract which still has 6 months on it so we can pay them.
Is this even allowed.
Oh and they keep saying that facbook says this and that, our status says we were looking for gym equipment and stuff, even though we both have very strict privacy setting's and all our friends are genuine friends.

no they can't but I must say 40 per month for a simple land line adds up to alot of calls : try using call1899.com or call18185.co.uk0

Where they right about the facebook observations?0

Yes but they simply quoted them to use against us. We've been looking for some gym equipment for free. Asking friends if they had any we could borrow. That I had a job, not the fact it was a training program and I didn't get the job after failing my test.
It's getting stupid. 18185 can't be used on Virgin, I've already checked. That £40 inclubes a bog standard internet connection too though.Total Debt: £1363.85

RE facebook, go to account settings and set everything to 'friends only' if it isnt already, otherwise im stumped as to how they found out things through facebook. Best thing i ever did was clear my FLM loan, they were bordering on harrasment with their patronsing text messages,bah!0

Yep your settings must not be fully private or else they have hacked ur account to find out details......are any of your passwords with them the same password for facebook - if so get it changed0

All the setting are on friends only
Have been since I started using it. The only thing of mine which is in public view is my twitter account.

Tell them you'll decide what you do and don't need, and that they can mind their own business.Oh and they keep saying that facbook says this and that, our status says we were looking for gym equipment and stuff, even though we both have very strict privacy setting's and all our friends are genuine friends.
Tell them to stop stalking you using electronic methods, as there is a law against this.0 -
Just on the Facebook thing - Facebook keep changing things on the security front. Just because you set things up a certain way when you joined does not mean that they are still like that. You need to check them on a regular basis. Just look at the number of Facebook pictures and stories that turn up on the Daily Mail.0
