What to wear to an interview for a waitressing job?

I agree with the person who said a knee length skirt/black trousers and a shirt in white or a non loud colour. A suit would be too much probably as it is a cafe rather than a serious job but jeans are a definite no-no. The only time it's a good idea to go super trendy and dress down rather than up is if you are applying for someone that demands being trendy like Topshop. You need to look like you made an effort, you're smart, presentable and a safe bet. Even if you aren't actually any of those!
I was brought up on the mantra: It's always better to be overdressed than underdressed and it has served me pretty well0 -
I would go for
clothing
either black trousers / knee length skirt & stockings / tights, Either a white or not to bright blouse, sensible nice black shoes.
Hair -
nice secure up-do (likely to be prefered working in food enviroment)
Make-up
simple natural looking make-up, eye make -up esp eye shadow go with brownish colours or similar.
Teeth-
ensure very clean and not yellowish.
Nails - not to long, shapped nicely with clear nail polish to give them a litle shine
Good luck
I've worked as a cafe manager and I have to pull you up here.
Make-up. There are hygiene regulations food-servers have to adhere to. Natural [i.e a light foundation] and mascara only. No eye-shadow or lipstick. Just a lip-gloss at the most
No perfume, it will taint the food. A nice body spray will do.
Nails: short, clean, with no nail polish.
Hair: clean and tied back.
Clothes: stick to classic colours. White shirt with a black skirt/trousers. Good shoes: black, no heels and keep the toes covered.0 -
