using internet without phone line

If you dont have a home phone but have a computer can you use the internet through your mobile. I am sure you can but dont know the ins and outs? Can you use i with any phone and how much does it cost?

any info please?

    Yes you can but you'd be better off with a 3G dongle. Many mobile contracts have a 500mb/month data limit, very easy to exceed on a computer.

    can you use the dongle on any phone even a basic payg and how much is it for unlimited use per month.

    The dongle is not part of a phone, it is a small (A little larger than a USB memory stick) device that you plug into a USB port and that connects (via 3G) to the internet. All mobile companies have them, Vodafone, Orange etc.

    i see do you know how much it would cost me to have unlimited monthly use. Is it just for laptops or can you use for pc as well?

    It'll work on either.

    Not sure on cost, you'll have to look on Vodafone's etc. websites, you could also look on ebay, Tesco etc.
