when i left 3 it toook me 25 mins to convince them i actually was leaving and to give me my code! HELP! I was hoping to get a good deal out of it lol

You went about it wrong, I called them to say I had been offered a better deal with BT and that I wanted to confirm my 12 month minimum contract was up (knowing full well it was up), she then asked if she could transfer me to retentions, who offered me my existing deal at half price including 6 Months full tv package for free. You have to convince them you have been talked into a rival service, they will offer you the World to keep you from there.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I said I had seen better deals in carphone warehouse, she wasnt interested!
Shall I call back and say ive read online about a better deal can they offer it me?0 -
I would not say "I have read of..." or "blah blah does it for this much". I would more likely say "Bt or Sky have been in touch with you and offered a package deal that is better than your existing deal"
Just ask to confirm about how much notice they need. The Key Words are "Rival Competition" and "Salesman", No Company likes a rival firm to try and fleece their customers. They will do whatever it takes to win you back.
I would wait a while before calling them back, the last thing you want is the same woman on the line who recognises you. They dont want to lose a customer, but if they smell its a blag, they will double bluff.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Retention is more and more about monthly spend, (or average monthly spend) than time with the network. What’s your average bill is the network better letting you go to another network than offering you a deal?0 -
could be that i am not worth much to them then, between me and the husband we spend app £35 on mobile contracts and then £55 each month on virgin media0
