I don't think they have ever turned people away for capacity though (not even when all the annual pass holders went for bonfire night), and this is a school day in the FREEZING off-season. I don't think it will be too busy, not all of the big rides are open and the terms are a bit confusing, so I think many people will prefer to wait until the Sun do their free ticket offer and rita and 13 will be open.

It's around half price during the feb half term anyway, so you're saving less than £20 rather than the full price. I asked my husband about going (during half term) at lunchtime and he moaned about how cold it always is (Alton Towers is always a lot colder than our home town despite being under the same weather forecast).

I think Alton are going to make money out of all the hot drinks they sell, and everyone who gets there before 10 to try for the free hotel stay will be buying lunch if their hands are too frozen for a picnic on the lawn :) There's not much indoor stuff, and places like Wobble World (soft play for kids under 120cm) have an expensive coffee shop selling overpriced ice cream.

Not here, schools are off the whole week from 14/2.

I think Alton is under the same LEA as us, so it's not half term for locals :)

Yep the locals will be at school as will the neighbouring counties, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire :D:D. A great day to go unless there are college/school trips that day.

We are in Cheshire and our schools are off that week - we have just bought an annual pass though, does anyone know if all the same rides are open the rest of the week please?

the website seems to be down, but yes, it's the same rides for the whole week so you might prefer to go a different day and use your pass.

It's the last day of term in Derbyshire. But that means nothing. People will take kids out of school for one day if they want. I wont be going and it's just 20 mins away. Gunna be busy busy. Not a pleasant day.
  • For those that dont understand, on an iphone and some blackberrys, you can check in to a location on your facebook. So when you get to Alton Towers, your phone will pick up the signal for AT and it will come up on your facebook that you are at AT. Hope this makes sense? So to take part in the offer you need both an iphone/blackberry and a facebook acount!

It's last day of term for my kids but it is also one of my sons birthday on that day, so may be tempted to take them. We'll see ;)
