Lots of people on facebook seem to be confused too. As far as I can tell (but I don't use smart phones so I don't really know) you have to actually be at Alton Towers before you can check in. I think it uses GPS or something, to post to your facebook status where you actually are.52% tight0

As far as I know they haven't had a free entry day before. They keep saying there's no limit to the number of free tickets they will give out, but they must have some sort of legal capacity limit?
It's a school day, so that should help keep the numbers down

Hmm, seems a bit too good to be true doesn't it? They are saying that there is no limit to the number of people who can do this and each person can bring 3/4 friends - but surely they must have a set number of people allowed in and if they get past this they must stop. Am tempted but it's a long way to go to get 'sorry we're full' on the doorstep!0

I know what you mean. It's also a long way to come back if your battery is dead on your phone! :rotfl: Sounds a bit risky to me to get all the way there and then not be able to access the ticket. Too confusing already and starting to make me doubt going ... :j0
